Hello Jose, According to the ASTATIC Catalog N-70, their Needle Replacement for your DUAL CDS-310 cartridge (with 2 tips, and makers number DN3) may be replaced with either a dual sapphire tipped cartridge number N281; or they produced the N281sd – with one tip of diamond and one tip of sapphire. N281 tips were: 0.7s/3s ……both tips sapphire N281sd tips were: 0.7d/3s……one tip diamond and one tip sapphire Presumably tip 1 was used for the 33/45 rpm speed; and tip 2 (the 3 mil sapphire)was used when the turntable was playing 78 rpm records I just checked on ebaY and there was 1 stereo cartridge Astatic N281sd on auction for $8.95 and so, I bought it for you. Item number is 310219503120. . . . I will be happy to send the small parcel to you when it arrives in a few days. Respectfully, Roberto PD: If you prefer onlyan original DUAL cartridge, then please advise me and I will just place it with my part |

Hello Jose, I agree that the best option would be to acquire the new cartridge and the new stylus. I will be satisfied to add the Astatic N281sd to my small parts listing for the DUAl turntables. I did find in my old parts bin 2 of the DUAL diamond stylus DN43 which was given to me by my father-in-law in 1965. I had forgotten all about those old parts. Best regards, Robert PD: I am still looking for some parts from the dwarf SABA radio UA345 - like the one repaired by Mario Coelho.
