  • Anotaciones
  • Developed in June 1939 as the “B” battery for 1.4 Volt portable radios in conjunction with the PR8  “A” battery.

The "B" battery, type number PR45, is a 45 Volt unit provided with Fahrenstock clips (tappings, minus and 45 Volts).

The following figures, which give an indication of the useful service life that can be expected from the PR45 unit, are based on normal usage of up to eight. hours per day and are approximate only.

Initial Drain, mA Useful Service Life, hours
    5 380
    6 310
    7 260
    8 220
    9 200

The figures quoted above show that, for example, a typical four-valve receiver drawing 250 mA "A" current and 8mA of "B" current would give approximately 220 hours of operation before battery replacements were required.
Therfore both "A" and "B" batteries would run down together.

    Was redesignated to Type 762.
