    This model can operate as a car radio when inserted into a special under-dash cradle.  When so used, the car's speaker, power supply and aerial are utilised.  The cradle contains a fourth stage of AF amplification using a 2N301 transistor, boosting the maximum undistorted audio power output to 3 watts at 14 volt supply.
