  • The Microflash is a light source for high-speed flash photography. It provides a high-intensity flash of about 2µS. It was used in the investigation of projectile flight, the disintegration of high-speed rotors, and the propagation of fractures in various materials.

    The flash can be initiated with a switch, a sound input, or through a contactor. The unit comes in two sections that latch together: a power supply unit and a lamphouse which contains a high-voltage transformer and a Xenon tube (1530P1). 

    General Radio Co. of Massachusetts manufactured a wide range of laboratory and test equipment. This is one of the rarer pieces for which there is very little information available.
