  • Anotaciones
  • This top set of Lafayette's 1935/36 range is not listed in Rider's - but we think it is there for "Radio Wire Television". The chassis is also different to the "Custom built 24-Tube radio" from Royale Radio Crafters and to the Royale of Midwest or the 5240 from Garod. Lafayette explains the chassis with 37 "features" on page 22 and 23 and shows the chassis C-95 plus on the following pages model C-96 "The Statesman" and C-97 "The Monarch". You can read that in the enlarged pictures.

Here only in short: It is the first Lafayette with a magig eye (6E5) and the only one in this catalog. Power output stage class AB triodes deliver up to 50 watt to the 12" "Auditorium" speaker and the 10" high frequency speaker "to span the entire audible range exactly as broadcast by the new high-fidelity stations. Step wise expanding selector makes possible high-fidelity response of 60 to 8000 cycles with good adjacent channel selectivity or hairline selectivity by varying the intermediate frequency band width acceptance. Dual chassis. Easy reading sector dial in which only the band in use is illuminated in distinctive coloring. Two speed planetary drive with split knob control. Automatic tone control (ATC) to reduce noise between stations. Beat oscillator (BFO) but where is the knob for it?. 19 tuned circuits. Dual IF amplifier. Five distinct bands covering a range of 140 kc to 30 megacycles (8 to 2,050 meters) as follows: 8 - 16; 16 - 57.5; 57 - 187; 187 - 555 and 850 - 2050 meters." We can only say that 30 mc is not 8 m ...

The C-95 chassis have the following dimensions: receiver chassis 19.125" wide, 10.25" high and 12.125" deep. amplifier-power supply chassis 22.25" wide 14" high and 11.25" deep. C-95 (chassis complete with tubes and LS) with a list price of $ 230.00 and lafayette price of $ 115.00 and the C-96 is a console for list price $ 279.00, Lafyette price $ 139.50 and C-97 is a phono-radio-combination console with a Capehart Automatic Record Changer for list price $ 455.00 and Lafayette price $ 227.50. See details for the models of this catalog or summaries. The knob for the BFO is missing at Lafayette models.
