  • Annotazioni
  • The R209 reception set, a high-grade general purpose receiver with the new B7G tubes, was introduced in 1945 and could replace the R107 and the R109 reception sets.
Frequency range in 4 bands, 1,0-2,3 MHz, 2,3-5,6 MHz, 5,5-12,5 MHz and 12,0-20,0 MHz, according to EMER E262 dated Jan. 1946. The working instructions dated May 1945 mentioned slightly different band-ends of range 2, 3 and 4.
Reception modes: AM/CW/FM. Variable BFO with audio-peak-filter at 950 Hz.
For FM reception, V8 is used as an amplifier-limiter and the diode-section becomes a simple discriminator; satisfactory FM-reception only in case of strong signals.
Antenna connectors for rod or wire and for dipole ca. 80 ohms, with antenna-trimmer.
It is a very solid and compact constructed set, being waterproof, with 2 silica-gel desiccators, one in use and one for spare. Loudspeaker with metal cover and a socket for two 150 ohm headphones.
An improved version R209 Mk.2 was introduced around 1951.
Valves are specified after their schematic-numbering in EMER E262 dated Jan.1946.
