  • Wireless set No. 78: Short range infantry man-pack transceiver covering eight crystal controlled channels in the 2,96 - 9,515 MHz range, AM (A3), pout 0,4 Watt telephony;
    three variants A (red, IF 920 kHz), B (green, IF 860 kHz) and C (yellow, IF 775 kHz) with six different channels according to variant and two common channels 2960 / 2975 kHz.
    Powered by LT 1,5 V and HT 90 + 90 V dry batteries;
    Used by British Army for short range communications in infantry patrols and vehicles on the move.
    The Wireless Set No.78 is a battery operated crystal controlled successor of the Wireless Set No.38, it comes with a hermetically sealed aluminum case, is immersion proof for landing operations and can be used under tropic and arctic conditions.
