  • Anotaciones
  • The Navy ATA transmitter was designed by Aircraft Radio Corporation and adopted in 1939 by the US Navy as a Command transmitter for CW and Voice-MCW (using a matching modulator as part of a system).

The CCT-52232 version was designed for frequencies from 2.1 to 3 MHz.  Each ATA transmitter contained a plugable crystal which verified the variable frequency oscillator at a particular point on its dial and expected to correspond to the crystal frequency. The eye tube opens when the transmitter is tuned to the crystal frequency.

The Army Air Force adopted a similar system as the SCR-274N series in 1940, which subsequently was modified to the ARC-5 series.
