  • AN//VRC-46 Mobile radio: Military transceiver covering 30-52,95 MHz (Band A) / 53-75,95 MHz (Band B), 920 channels with 50 kHz channel spacing, FM (F3), output power 1 - 3 (low power) or 35 W (high power), standard and subaudio tone (150 Hz) operated squelch.

    The AN/VRC-46 system consists of RT-524A/VRC transceiver (without auxiliary receiver) and the Mounting MT-1029. Standard vehicle antenna is the AT-912 whip antenna with the antenna tuning unit MX-2799.

    The System AN/VRC-47 consists of the RT-524A/VRC transceiver with the R-442 auxiliary receiver, the system AN/VRC-12 of the RT-246A/VRC transceiver (with mechanical presets, no speaker) with the R-442 auxiliary receiver.

    The system's core unit, the transceiver RT-524A/VRC is very similar to the RT-246A/VRC, but it comes with only manual tuning and has an integrated speaker. All accessories are interchangeable.

    The system was produced by several U.S. manufacturers and also by Tadiran, Israel.

    The set was used by U.S. Army in Vietnam and several other armed forces, in Switzerland it carried the designation SE-412.

    It was the successor of the AN/GRC-3 - AN/GRC-8.
