S-meter; optional narrow band FM-adaptor NFM-83-50 to plug in in accessory socket.

Similar to National World Master NC-88 without internal speaker, but with added accessory socket, S-meter, and most important, the crystal filter.

The NC-98 was reviewed in the August 1954 issue of QST.  The review notes that the addition of the crystal filter and the S-meter made it a true communications receiver as compared to an all-wave broadcast receiver to which a BFO had been added stating, "Using the amateur understanding of what a communication receiver is, the National NC-98 meets these requirements, since it is the NC-88 with a crystal filter and an S-meter."

As with all receivers with a crystal filter, the IF must be aligned to the crystal filter frequency.

Model NC-98TS was a 6 inch speaker in a matching cabinet, priced at $11.

The scan resolution is so low, the text is unreadable. Don't waste your time, this is junk!
