  • The Philco model 660 series is based on a 10-tube 4-band chassis with shadow meter (tuning aid). The band coverage is 150-390 kHz, BC, 1.75-5.8 MHz, and 5.7-18 MHz. The circuitry has an RF stage, separate oscillator and mixer tubes, two IF stages, and a 10-watt push-pull Class A output stage using two type 42 output tubes and a third 42 driver.

    There are two models in the series with different cabinet styles. Model 660L is a wide lowboy with short legs and an ornate round speaker grill. Model 660X is a floor-type upright console with inclined sounding board.

    All versions include a shadow meter (tuning aid).
