- The Philco model 665 series (1936) was a follow-on to the 660 series (1935) and is very similar to the earlier series in both chassis design and styles of cabinets. The 665 chassis uses a 10-tube 4-band circuit with shadow meter (tuning aid). Band coverage is 150-390 kHz, BC, 1.75-5.8 MHz, and 5.7-18 MHz.
There are two models in the series with different cabinet styles. Model 665L is a wide lowboy with short legs and an ornately decorated round speaker grill. Model 665X is an floor-type upright console.
