  • This Philips kit is using a special circuit with two EL86 tubes in cascode for a low output impedance of 800 ohm. Philips had a range of speakers that could be connected to this output transformer-less design (OTL), like the 9710AM. The EL86 pentodes use a special bifilair choke to drive the shields. The stereo preamplifier HF306 was another kit.
