  • The Signal Gripper receiver was designed by W.C. Doerle.  It covered 15 to 200 meters with plug-in coils.

    This version of the Signal Gripper was designed to be use with a AC power supply delivering from 180 to 250 volts with a 2.5 volt filament supply.  Also, a 22 volt tap was needed for the screen grid of the type 57 tube.  However, without changing the ciruit, but by changing tubes, the receiver could be run on storage batteries.

    When operating from a storage battery with "B" batteries for the plate supply, a 78 will be used for the R.F. tube, a 77 for the detector tube and a 37 for the audio tube.
