• Bemerkung

• The 20 Valve, 4 band, York-Royal Radiogram was based on the luxury principle of Scott Radio labs in the USA with a turntable, radio/pre-amplifier and a separate final audio output stage and power supply in one cabinet with chrome plated chassis and a separate large speaker cabinet with two, Magnavox, 12” permanent magnet speakers.

  The power supply chassis incorporates a push-pull/parallel audio output stage with four, 2A3’s, and connect to the speaker cabinet by a 200Ω line transformer.

  The radio incorporated the following EH Scott luxury features;

  • An automatic frequency control. When the set is tuned to within 10kHz of a station the set will automatically tune to the centre frequency.
  • Band spread on short wave.
  • Automatic record changer
  • Extra hum reduction filters in the power supply.
  • The circuit uses an RF stage on each band and two IF stages.
  • There is also an extra IF channel for the AFC system.
  • The first audio amplifier, 6L7, incorporates a noise suppression (muting) when the radio is off channel.
  •  The first audio amplifier provides volume expansion when switched to gramophone.

  Reliance provided a 5 year Guarantee for the York-Royal.
