The Sears Silvertone 1700 is an AC/DC operated 5 tube BC band receiver. Has 154 ohm resistor built into the line cord (curtain burner). Has AC/DC switch on rear of chassis which allows the field coil of the speaker to bypass the regulator tube when operating from a DC source.
The chassis and schematic used in this model is also used in models 7061 and 7062
