  • Bemerkung
  • The Sears model 45 is an AC operated 5 tube BC and SW band receiver.

This model was manufactured for Sears by the Mission Bell Radio Mfg. Co. Inc., Los Angeles, Ca.

To date, this model has not been found in any Sears literature, including Sears catalogs and Sears Radio Service Information (Nomenclature Indexes, Div. 57). It is rumored that Mission Bell sold radio's to Sears, which in turn sold them under the Silvertone brand only in California.  Normally Sears provided service for its line of radio's, however it is apparent from the label on the rear of this radio that Mission Bell Radio provided warranty and service for this radio.

The Sears manufacturer code for Mission Bell Radio is 113, however this radio does not have the usual Sears chassis number marked on the chassis, which would normally have the form 113.xxxx. Also, Sears did not normally list the radio manufacturer on the radio chassis.  This model has Mission Bell Radio clearly marked on the chassis, along with the model number 45 (which might be the Mission Bell chassis number).  The second label on the chassis has the number 833, and it is not clear what that number represents.
