Nachdem nun das Instruction Manual des Sailor R109 vorliegt, ist klar, dass mit NW "Navigation Wave" gemeint ist (siehe S.5 das Manuals), und dass das der Frequenzbereich 250-430kHz ist.

In diesem Bereich sendeten Küstenfunkstationen wie Stavanger (auf 319kHz) und Bush Mills (auf 266kHz) Radiosignale, die den Schiffen zur Funknavigation dienten (siehe S.13 des Manuals).

Hat also mit Tropenband nichts zu tun.
