Hi everyone, Does anyone know where I can find a suitable mains lead or find a connector that will fit the Ultra R786. I have obtained this set and it is missing. I have been told the Bush DAC90A Plug might be the same? The measurement bewteen pin centres on the DAC90A being 17mm. (0.67inches) |

Hello Jamie, The Bush DAC90A plug is nothing like the plug that fits the Ultra Twin. The plug for the Ultra is unique and is very difficult to find on its own. I can post a pic of the two plugs together if you like. Regards ........... Howard Surrey Hills, England

Thanks Howard, this would be very helpful as I might want to replicate one. Failing that I would have to fit a permenant mains lead, or a 'Figure 8' connector.
Cheers, Jamie. |

Hello Jamie, Here are the Bush and Ultra plugs. Note that there is a step on the Ultra plug which operates the battery cut-off switch when pushed into its socket. Regards ........... Howard Surrey Hills, England

Actually it's quite simple to make a custom socket (the plug is on the Radio and it's technically a cable socket on the flex). It would be a shame to spoil the radio set. Perhaps I should do step by step guide. |

Thanks Mike, It would be very useful for a step by step guide to be written up. However, this set has a lot of damage to the bakelite and will require a lot of filler etc, so for this specific set anyway fitting a standard 'Figure Of Eight' socket wouldn't de-value it. It would still be interesting to attempt to replicate a plug. I have placed adverts in various places so I might get a plug yet.
