Description

Page no 671 of the Fall issue of the Sears Roebuck catalog announces a catalog number series for radio tubes, 46XX, replacing the earlier 29XX series. The company sold the standard range of US designed and made tubes and these tubes were nmade by a few small manufacturers. THe "WLS" (Worlds Largest Store) brand was either hot branded into the base or a paper label on the glass. Tube manufacturers in the series were not shown in the catalogs with the exception of the 4601, which is a Solartron. The 4602 is also listed in the Spring 1929 catalog. The 4602 (UX200A) is an improved version of the 2950 (UX200)

This tube used as a supersensitive detector in amateur receiving sets.
