Description |
External magnet 6-cavity unstrapped magnetron. 12KV, 10A, 650 gauss, 40KW peak pulse. 715MHz +/- 5MHz. Coaxial output.
The first multicavity magnetron to go into production in America, for use in the transmitter of MK 3 and MK 4 radar sets. The pulse modulator used a couple of 701A. The TR box used the 702A TR switch mounted in the center of a half-wavelength coaxial line. The receiver used two 316As as local oscillator and as first dtector. Later replaced by GL-446.
Replaced by tunable 4J42.
