Description |
According to Tyne, page 315, the oxide-coated UX112 was developed by Westinghouse as an output tube for battery-operated sets equipped with UX201A tubes. With the recommended 157 volts anode voltage, the output is about 0.2 watt. The UX112 was made for only a short time. It was replaced in 1927 by the UX112A, which takes only half the filament power.
Work on develpment of the tube began at the Westinghouse laboratories in Bloomfield, New Jersey early in 1925 and it was available in November of 1925, being released to the public the following month.
