  • Second model of the 1934 Caliph Console with the aero type dial.

    The earlier version had a elongated peephole dial and "thermometer-light" tuning, also referred to as the blinklight tuning model.

    Both models used the PZ chassis essentially the same as the Astor Mickey Mouse OZ chassis with the OZ power plug removed and the power cable arranged to enter the hole where the OZ speaker change over switch was mounted.

    This version of chassis could possibly be identified by later serial numbers and does not have the blinklight tuning indicator circuit. Both Caliph models used the same power transformer which had an additional winding designated “D” on the schematic compared to the OZ.
