Hello I own a garod 831 modified chassis.
It is Impossible to find exact schematic diagram on the web or in rider's schematic only 831 series chassis
Mobile is console...
dimensions:
height 115 width 64 depth 45 with usual gold garod logo,
on the mobile top:
automatic turntable garrard RC5 made in england
in the mobile mid:
an 831 garod chassis, normally labelled, normal dial scale, seems really a normal 831 chassis,
BUT WITHOUT 25A6 FINAL TUBE.
instead of final tube i see a 5 pin socket... wiring is two low level audio signals in phase opposition from driver 6c5
variants:
6j8 instead of 6a8 6e5 instead of 6g5 6c5 instead of 6f5
no final tube ... in place of final tube only the 5 pin socket
chassis is 100% original never modified never repaired
on the mobile bottom:
an alluminium chassis with 4x12a5 final tubes (push pull 2+2) and 3 paralleled 25y5 rectifiers
push pull output trasformer is directly mounted on the mobile near the speaker
alluminum chassis seem made from another factory, another hand... more cheap assembly sure less quality, but the 5 pin socket used for the audio signals is the same brand on both chassis
seems a little series production or a test.... i think this because tube type is hand writed on the chassis. ( see the pic)
Also original 831 iron radio chassis is raised by a few centimeters with an additional aluminium support, sure the same material than used on alluminium power amplifier chassis.
I'm thinking this radio is not a mix, sure original, perhaps a prototype from an 831 serie base or a little production for me unknown
please
i need more info
ps this radio comes from sweden, but power supply is always 120V
Thank You indeed
