  • The Flinders BC 360 is a 5‑valve high‑efficiency superheterodyne receiver designed for operation from A.C. mains only. The circuit follows the standard broadcast‑band superhet layout of the mid‑1930s, employing a metal‑cored I.F. transformer pair for improved selectivity and reduced drift. A counter‑balanced tuning system drives a full‑vision illuminated dial, marked with station call letters for multiple Australian States. Automatic Volume Control (A.V.C.) is applied to the RF and mixer stages to stabilise program level.

    Audio output is via a single‑ended power stage feeding a full‑size 8‑inch electro‑dynamic Magnavox speaker, providing wide‑range reproduction for cabinet radios of the period. A continuously variable tone control is fitted. 

    Some examples of this model were made using a 6A7 converter

    Speaker field coil 1650 ohms.

    Flinders Cabinet also available in the following Receivers;

    • BC370 — 5 valve A.C./D.C. Broadcast Superheterodyne
    • BC375 — 4 valve Battery Broadcast Superheterodyne

    Chassis is also used in the Lachlan BC360 table model.

    This model uses the same chassis as the Tasma Gilbert 360.
