  • Wireless set No. 21: Short - medium range transceiver covering 4,2 - 7,5 MHz (low band), 19 - 31 MHz (high band); AM (A3), MCW (A2) and CW (A1), pout 1,5 Watt (low band), 0,8 Watt (high band);
    powered by 6 V accumulator for heaters and non-synchroneous vibratory HT unit for 230V HT; 12 - 16 foot rod antenna or 45 foot ground aerial.
    Used by British Army for Infantry Brigade and Royal Artillery Regiment short - medium range communication; the set could be used as vehicle or animal pack station or removed from it's rubber suspended carrier as ground station.
    The Wireless Set. No.21 replaced the Wireless Set No.11 (low power) in 1940, the set has been produced by Murphy and later also by Bush Radio. Quite soon, it was superseeded by the more popular Wireless Set No.22, the high band capabilities have been reported as hardly ever used.
