  • Wireless Set No. 28: Short range man-pack transceiver covering 6 - 9 MHz, AM (A3) and CW (A1), pout 0,25 Watt telephony;
    powered by LT 3 V and HT 150 V dry batteries; used by British Army infantry for short range communications between company and battalion HQ or carried as man-pack on march;rod aerial up to 10 foot.
    The Wireless Set No.28 was produced by Murphy in a small troop trial batch around 1940, it featured an aluminum chassis and was considerably lighter but less stable then the original Wireless Set No.18, due to it's completely different layout with two more valves, it used considerably more battery power.
