Philips began activities in Portugal at 1927. FAPAE (Fábrica Portuguesa de Artigos Eléctricos) was inaugurated at 1943. But FAPAE imported components mainly from the Netherlands (Holland) and assembled radios in Portugal. Info Mr. Cardoso (Philips): During WW2 Philips Portugal imported Radios not from Holland but mainly from the US with code AN and VN.
Mário Coelho:
As far as I can understand from Portuguese and Dutch sources, some Philips radio models assembled in FAPAE – Portugal, by Philips licence, were similar models to those made in Holland.
Those models were referenced with two letters L and N (LN) meaning Lisbon. The dial-glasses were written in Portuguese language and also the country broadcast satiations were considered.
Since 12th of March 1970 Philips moved its facilities to Ovar (north of Portugal). LN seems to be the code on radios for Philips Portugal.
