History:

The early history of AWA in New Zealand parallels Australia with coastal wireless stations being established throughout Australasia for shipping communications.

Australian made AWA broadcast transmission equipment were used in some New Zealand broadcast stations.

Pre-war domestic AWA receivers sold in NZ, such as the Radiolette, were Australian exports.

Some post-war domestic AWA radio receivers were locally made by Allied Industries Limited.

This manufacturer was suggested by Martin Kent.
