• Remarques

• This is one of few Clinton branded radios found in Texas.  It is likely that the Texas Centennial celebration in 1936 attracted Clinton or someone selling the brand to the activities that year.  The radio pictured was probably purchased in San Antonio, Texas.  Another of the 216 models was purchased from an antique store in Salado, Texas, about 150 miles north of San Antonio.  The 1936 Clinton model 139 has also been found in and around Texas.  The 139 has a similar chassis and cabinet to the 216 but has a round dial.  Radios built by Clinton but with other brand names are fairly common in Texas.  Most can be indentified by the phrases "Plant A, Chicago" or "Plant C, Chicago" on the license label.
