nora: Nora K62 Luftwaffe Radio
Greg Imparato

I purchased a NORA K62 Radio which has the Luftwaffe emblems on the front doors and on the rear cover. What are the values for a radio such as this. Where and who would have used this radio. On one of the tubes the Third Reich symbol along with numbers "Wa A 017" and the word "Wehrmachteigentum" translated mean Defense Property along with numbers 25 42 I dont know the meaning of (see attached pictures) the markings. I would greatly appreciate any information to help provide answers to my questions

Eilert Menke

Hello Greg,

you have a nice radio. Since your question is already a few days old, I would like to answer briefly: The stamp with the eagle on the tube is an acceptance stamp from the german “Waffenamt”. The numbers 25 - 42 indicate the date of the transfer into the military property in the 25th week of 1942.

Here and there I found something else. Unfortunately, I can not contribute more.

Mark Hippenstiel

Dear Greg,

I think the stamp is rather Wa.A 617 than Wa.A 017. We have a combination datasheet for tubes marked with this code, and you can find find additional information in English here.

On the model page of the Siemens version of this receiver there are more complete schematics, and an English version of the operating instructions.

From my understanding, the receiver was used for troop entertainment and listening while "on the road". They are not exceptionally rare and can frequently be found in the USA, but they are also sought after, escpecially in good original condition. The costs of tube replacement are an issue of course, too.

You can get an idea of a possible value if you expand the drop-down field for collector's prices on the K62 model as well as on the K32GWB model page. More detailed information about the circumstances of the sale can be called up by pressing the magnifying glass icon next to the drop-down.

Hope that helps.
Kind regards
