Does anyone have a dial string diagram for the K32?

John,

unfortunately, the service manual gives no string diagram. However, if you look closer to the picture given in the service manual, it can be seen how the string should be.

This picture may be down loaded in normal size, and you will find it beneath the schematics.

Regards,

Dietmar

Did you get your dial string problem fixed?  I have a K32.  Maybe I can help.

My on/off volume control is broken.  Can I use a standard on/off volume control with this radio?  The schematic does not give a value.

Thank you,

Donald

The value is 1,5 MegOhm, at least this is what my Ohmmeter reads. Please notice the unusual mounting by using a clamp ring.

I saw the clamp.  I'm not sure how to get it off but that's next.  Finding something to replace it with is going to be the difficult part.  I've never seen this control before.

Thank you for the help.

Donald

Hello Donald, those volume control combined by an integrated or separately mounted ON OFF switch where very common. Not common is the way it is mounted.

Keeping it close to the origin, take care to find one with a push - pull shaft. (In these days when batteries where used, the closing front door shut off battery power automatecally) Your "Poti"  has a through going shaft with a small disk wich operates the switch. You even could use one with integrated switch ore one operating with a turn-around-shaft. Much more important is, to find a log Poti, not a linear working one.

I am going to send you some pictures of what I have in my grab box.

I really appreciate your help.  This radio is in such good shape I am excited to restore it.  I am going to restuff the capacitors so they look original.  This is what this group is all about.

Donald

My K32 is in very nice condition but it is missing the metal piece at the top of the right door.  This peice makes the door stay closed.  If someone has a junked cabinet, perhaps I can buy this peice.

Regards,

Donald

I am in need of a replacement on/off volume switch for this model.  Mine is defective and not repairable.

Donald

Hallo liebe Sammlerkollegen,

Ton Zitman

siemens: K32GWB; Wishing to reconnect loose wire for UY11 tube

While removing my K32 from its case, a wire has come loose from its connection. It is a brown wire that you can see in the attached photo.  I cannot determine where on the UY11 this brown wire attaches. It goes back into the radio into a wire bundle that I do not wish to disturb. Can you assist me, in determining where this wire connects?

Dear Samuel,

I am having a NORA chassis wich is the forerunner of SIEMENS K32.

At the place shown on your pictures a sreened cable is leading to a coupling of wich I believe, it´s a grammophon coupling. The screen is going to the center, the inside cable to one of the round jacks.

At your chassis there should be another single cable, violet or blue, coming through a hole just beside the big one and leading to the 2nd jack.

Reiner

Hi again,

I just discovered, you are not talking about the thick brown cable but the smaller one marked by a red lasso and arrow. However the answer remains the same. :-)

Hello Reiner,

Thank you very much for the information.  Of course, as soon as I read your reply, I remembered seeing the wire go the gramaphone connection in the past!

My name is Luigi.

Some time ago I bought a cabinet  (without chassis and speaker) of the receivers Siemens K32-GWB and I restored it.

Now, I'm looking for its chassis (even if without some tubes or other parts) and its speaker.

Thanks for any answers.

Best regards

Luigi
