I recently changed many capacitors on the set I have. One was the 25uf electrolytic cap on the ECL82 tube which is twinned with a 680 olm wire wound resistor.
I used a 1 watt standard resistor as I didn't have a wire wound one.
After about two hours of playing the capacitor exploded and the resistor shows discolouration.
I would like to know what the wattage of the original resistor was as I presume the one I used was not robust enough.
I see wire wound ones for sale at various wattage ratings and need to know what I should look for as a replacement.
