E.C.& A. Grammont, label "TM Fotos": This company for incandescent light bulbs produced the first high vacuum tubes in Europe under the label TM Fotos in 1914. See Tyne "Saga fo the vacuum tube" page 190-193 how France came to the first high vacuum triode in Europe - from copies of AT&T tubes and de Forest's Audion tubes: De Forest was doing experiments with his audion in France in 1908 and has met Colonel Gustav Ferrié (later General). In 1914 Paul Pichon brought the latest triodes from the US with the intention to bring them to Telefunken but the war forced him to go to France. Ferrié also found the amplifier from de Forst who left if for Ferrié on his visit in 1908. It was lying forgotten in the basement of a storehouse (page 193). Since Grammont was not able to fulfill the demand for tubes "Métal" was pressed into service too.
J. Boulanger and G. Ferrié did write a book: "La Télégraphie sans fil et les ondes électriques" (7th ed., Paris: Berger-Levrault, 1909). 1910 Ferrié publishesd a well-documented technical study of all French and foreign accomplishments concerning transmission and reception of radioelectric waves, including the use of the Audion and in the same year Compagnie Générale des Lampes (later "Compagnie des Lampes", brand "Métal") made a few Fleming diodes. In 1912 "Compagnie des Lampes" made also some de Forest Audions for the French navy.
