Here are the statistics for 2016, which have been created similar to the 2015 Statistics, and the statistics for years  2014,  2013,  2012,  2011 and 2010.

In the 2009 Statistics, one can also find the answers to:
What are we ?; What we have created ?; Where to get help ?; Has the work paid off ?

For several years, the statistics have been published only in German: ie 2006 (Flashback), 2007 (Anthill), 2008 and 2009 (see above). Located here is the legal basis and Continuity for the "Radiomuseum Foundation in Luzern".

Many thanks to Ernst Erb for collecting the statistics for 2016 and then documenting the results in his original thread (in German) found here: Statistik 2016 . This thread is a translation of the original thread from Ernst.

Before going further, a very important point:
Behind all of these figures are members who volunteer and partly sacrifice time by providing data or images or verify the uploaded information.

As someone from the United States wrote (freely translated):  "I would like to get information about a model, without having to search all over the planet on the internet".

So this is what RMorg is all about.  We differentiate from the other hundreds of antique radio websites by having the information organized by members with antique radio knowledge and experience.

Financially, 2016 will probably be cash-flow positive, but as expected, we are seeing a decline in new memberships to "only" a good 800 entrants in 2016 because on January 13, 2016, we allowed guests to download a limited number of schematics.

We suggest voluntary contributions from such guests, to be able to hire a part-time programmer later. After all, the RMorg has been supporting itself since 2015. However, our member and former programmer for 5 years, Dag Schöber, is very helpful and enthusiastic to make small improvements.  We thank him for this continued support.

In each category of the statistics there is a list of the top 20 most active members.
But I do not diminish the work of the less active members and would like to thank everyone for their participation in this enterprise, which helps all collectors and not just me.  I am a mere servant in this matter.  Every one of the 16'046 members can click on “Data change, etc” under “Uploads and questions” on any model page and see who has contributed to the model in question and can also suggest improvements.

With the list of the 20 most active members per field of activity, I do not exclude the less performing members, but thank them all for their cooperation, which they do for all collectors - not for me, because I am only the servant in the matter. At least the now 16'046 members can look at each model by clicking on "Change Suggestion" under "Uploads and Questions", who worked at the model - and make their own improvements.

As we know only on the basis of messages whether a member is still alive - and these reports are sketchy, I abstain to name the deceased members here.

The highest contributing members in accordance with the figures:

In 2016, a total of 9598 new models were added (14,343 in 2015, 16,358 in 2014, 17,300 in 2013, 19,907 in 2012) so that at the end of 2016 there were 279,928 model pages available on the website (270,330 in 2015, 255'987 in 2014, 239,629 in 2013, 222,284 in 2012).   Naturally (degree of completeness) the number of new models decreases per year.

The following table is a list of the top 20 members who created new model pages:

Each of these suggestions or proposals must be checked by 2 separate administrators and found to be correct.  Often correspondence must be exchanged in order to check and clarify the data. However, it is clear that a model administrator cannot always know as much about a model as the proposer who has the item in front of him, so administrators can only really fully check the salient points.  Unfortunately, quality of the proposals varies widely.

454 members have proposed model changes in 2016 (529 in 2015, 564 in 2014, 627 in 2013, 629 in 2012, 599 in 2011, 517 in 2010).

John Kusching and I can also correct errors or create model pages directly, in which case are not applied to the statistics.  These figures include the administration of new models, but this makes 8460 positions and does not change positions because the changes make 113,224 positions.

Hinrich Grensemann, Karlheinz Gützlaff and Albert Weiss had the great task of checking and accepting the numerous pictures before they appear on the website. 1165 members have uploaded at least one model image (1329 members in 2015, 1433 in 2014, 1501 in 2013, 1481 in 2012) and at the end of 2016 we feature a total of 891,503 Model images (824,229 at the end of 2015, 727,064 at the end of 2014, 629,241 at the end of 2013, 520,684 at the end of 2012) for 195,699 models (184,791 models at the end of 2015, 171,566 models at the end of 2014, 155,736 models at the end of 2013, 137,495 models at the end of 2012) on 1/1/17.

Schematic diagrams are an essential part of our appeal.  As of January 1, 2017 we feature a total of 130,221 Models that show at least one circuit diagram (126,005 in 2015, 120,187 in 2014, 115,062 in 2013, 109,383 in 2012) with a total of 729,066 diagrams altogether (694,218 in 2015, 639,541 in 2014, 595,189 in 2013, 528,565 in 2012).

In 2016 a total of 437 members have participated in uploading schematics (513 in 2015, 507 in 2014, 539 in 2013, 589 in 2012), of them 318 uploaded more than one schematic (370 in 2015, 387 in 2014, 414 in 2013, 447 in 2012).  We have a very significant number of additional schematics and documents that need to be scanned and uploaded, but we more help in getting this material into the website.  Can anyone help us with this task?

Another attractive feature is the 215,968 pricing data for models paid by collectors (203,605 in 2015, 184,439 in 2014, 168,225 in 2013, 145,737 in 2011) that are available for 49,545 models in 2016 (48,033 in 2015, 45,291 in 2014, 43,037 in 2013, 40,480 models in 2012).  These numbers include >7000 tube prices.

Peter Steffen, CH, has numerous tube Images checked and unlocked. Here also, most tube Admins are represented, which can alone create or change tubes - but as a member you can create variants or upload images.

After uploading, we are all indebted to the work of the many administrators.  Members, administrators and moderators of the "Organization" can be reached directly – eg, linguistically improve one of the 37 model admins and the 26 CMS admins, the standard texts etc.  We distinguish nine groups.  As a member, you will also find contact admins in the various languages that will help you if needed - and as a various image admins. Without such controls, our data would never have the quality that we show.  Of course, we improve daily - quality is similar to an exponential function and is never 100% achievable!

As a guest, you can contact us and suggest improvements by clicking on the "Contact" link at the bottom of any page.Bottom of Form

Has RMorg ever considered usage of Instagram , Pintarest, and/or having a profile or group on Facebook  Today, many people are not as as computer savvy, but relate quite well in these platfroms

Perhaps, being out there on these forms of social media could bridge people over to RMorg

Another consideration, would be to contact BBC, DW, RT (to name a few), for people out there to see that they can get information about a radio, or to join a hobby, such as radio repair and servicing

Hi Omer
Thanks for your suggestions. It is always the same: somebody has to do it.
You are invited to start something like this and to keep going on.
See our position by looking up the German Statistics - post 2, the last graph:
At the moment we serve more than 30'000 different users each day ...

I hope somebody can translate post 2 from there to here ...

To thank the Author because you find the post helpful or well done.
