Die PCL81 ist der Vorgänger der PCL82, aber noch mit gemeinsamer Kathode, was die Beschaltung der Röhre erschwert. Ab der PCL82 wurden solche Verbundröhren mit getrennten Katoden für beide Systeme ausgestattet.
