Im Alter von etwa 8 Jahren begann ich mit technischen Konstruktionen (Walther & Co. Berlin: STABIL Metallbaukasten); danach wendete ich mich dem Modellbau von Schiffen und Flugzeugen aus Karton zu (Wilhelmshavener Modellbaubögen), ab etwa 15 Jahren folgte der Bau von Detektor- und Transistorempfängern. Bedingt durch die starke Beanspruchung im Beruf (Bankkaufmann, EDV- Beratung und -Anwendungsentwicklung) blieb leider alles liegen, und erst 1998 begann ich wieder ganz "von vorn", diesmal als Sammler: STABIL Metallbaukästen, Lectron Experimentierkästen und Radios. In den wenigen Jahren habe ich eine kleine Sammlung aufgebaut, insbesondere mit Geräten, die ich damals als Junge bzw. Jugendlicher mangels Geld nicht kaufen konnte (zumeist Braun-Geräte); dazu etliche Nach- und Eigenbauten. Ebenso vertreten sind Grammophone, Plattenspieler und Tonband-/Kassettengeräte, aber eben immer nur ein Modell einer Art bzw. Konstruktionstechnik. Seit 2012 sammle und dokumentiere ich das LECTRON System (ab 1966) und entwickele auch eigene Bausteine.
