Attachments

Dear Ernst, you opened the Pandora`s Box, I guess it would be a mistake to move SU models under Russia. The SU was splitted in December 1991. Until this date the different radio frequency equipment was produced under "Made in USSR". We have exceptions for Baltic states, but in this case we have a completely different historical background. At the moment we have 2 models under SU and one model under RU only since 1992! My proposal is to leave Soviet Union as it is and rename Russia to "Russia-since 1992" to avoid doublets. In the future, if it would be necessary, we could use for example "Ukraine-since 1992", "Belarus-since 1992" etc, if we will find a model, what is evincible did not developed and made in Russia or in SU earlier. Please note, the situation is quite similar in case of Yugoslavia (factories in Ljublana, Zagreb, Niš or factories of Tesla Yu), DDR or Czechoslovakia too. Tesla (CS) company had a factory in Bratislava, in this case model 1017A and lot of more will be under Slovakia? Nonsense! Moreover, Tungsram had a factory in Bratislava too. For example, model http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/tungsram_slovensky_ludovy_prijima.html was produced on nazi dependent Slovakia, having after First Vienna Award different borders then now. Through that, this model is under CS and it is right. I think, we have to accept the history but use the common sense. BR Gabriel |

Dear Gabriel Thank you very much for your answer. You opened my eyes to the point where I have now the arguments for telling the member that we stick to our model but change the name of Russia to "Russia-since 1992". What you wrote is just what I have needed ;-) My own arguments would not have been strong enough ... We could/(should?) use Russian Federation I believe but this then would be too long. In the west anyway we are used to the short terms like Switzerland instead of the official Swiss Confederation (CH) or in latin Confoederatio Helvetica. I also thank Martin for his thoughts. I close this thread now but would open it again if there is something still to say to this. |
